Harshal Surange is a Cold Chain Consultant and Director & CEO of ACR Project Consultants Pvt Ltd, Pune which is into Cold Chain and HVAC&R Consulting since 1971 and the company has been promoting ‘Green’ and ‘Sustainable’ Cold Chain at a Global level.
Recently, Harshal received the Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Innovation Award at Global level by UNEP & ASHRAE for innovative work in Sustainable low GWP System design for Cold Chain projects. This is the only project from India, other three being from Brazil and Ecuador. He is also the recipient of multiple other Industry awards like the ‘Bry Air Award’ for Excellence in System Design, the Emerson Cup for Refrigeration design at South East Asia Level, among many others.
He is empaneled as a Cold Chain Expert with WFLO (part of the Global Cold Chain Alliance, USA) and is currently providing cold chain consultancy for the Bangladesh Trade Facilitation Project with them. He is also empaneled with Asian Development Bank (ADB), among others. He has been actively involved with NHB (National Horticulture Board) for various assignments including preparation of Standards, imparting Training to Engineers as well as Cold Storage owners and operators all over India. He has been recognized as a ‘Resource Person’ and ‘Trainer’ by the NHB.
He is the past Chair of ISHRAE Refrigeration Handbook Committee, is the Chair of ASHRAE RAL Refrigeration Committee and Chair of Cold Chain Subcommittee of Ref-CPCC, ASHRAE USA.
